Today's biology uses math. Tomorrow's biology will use more math. We're looking for students who will help drive this change.
MU's Math and Life Sciences program, a new program funded by the National Science Foundation, is looking for students with an interest in science and mathematics for a new freshman learning community in Fall 2010. Students accepted into the program will:
1. be members of a special Freshman Interest Group (FIG) in the residence halls,
2. take a special 1-credit proseminar led by faculty from Math and the Life Sciences during each semester of their freshman year
3. have special sections of English and introductory Biology
4. receive paid research internships during the summer after their freshman year and through the sophomore year; some members can receive need-based financial aid from the program.
